In just three weeks, supporters of Falmouth Parish of King Charles the Martyr have raised the £2,000 needed to repair its iconic tower clock.
The final donation was given in memory of the Laity family who used to live in Falmouth and has meant church leaders are now been able to press ahead with the repairs. The clock needs a new electric drive unit to
replace the one installed in the 1970s.
The Rev Stephen Tudgey, priest-in-charge, said this week: "We give thanks to God for the success of this appeal with the total sum being raised in just three weeks from the start. Thanks to all who who have supported this appeal with generosity.
"We have instructed the Cumbria Clock company to repair the clock and it should soon be in full working order again."
