Falmouth Harbour Commissioners (FHC) have launched a new website with improved functionality and design, giving users of the harbour and the wider community access to more information about the role and work of the organisation.
The site now features a "library" resource, including a range of documents available for public viewing, split down into key categories, making for easier navigation. FHC have also developed an interactive harbour map, showing various zones, environmental designations and jurisdictions. There is also a dedicated FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page.
FHC hope the new website, designed by Truro-based Wolf Rock Marketing, will make it easier for people to source key information about the various roles undertaken by the authority. The site will also provide updates on port development and the environment, as well as the management of shipping and safety.
Chief executive and harbour master of Falmouth Harbour Commissioners, Captain Mark Sansom, said: “The new website follows on from the launch of separate sites for Falmouth Haven and Falmouth Pilot Services. The site is designed to provide quick access to live information such as vessel movements and weather. It also hosts a comprehensive library of information for our stakeholders, FHC staff and members of our committees.”
