The iconic tower clock at Falmouth Parish Church of King Charles the Martyr is now back in full working order following a public appeal for donations.
The clock needed a new electric drive unit to replace the one installed in the 1970s so the Rev Stephen Tudgey launched an appeal to raise the £2,000 needed to get the work done. The money was raised in just three weeks, much to the amazement of Rev Tudgey.
"We thank everyone who donated to our appeal and with special thanks to the family of Pamela Dinsmore, the Laity family, David Eyres of New Zealand a former churchwarden, and to KCM Church Choir for their support," he said.
The clock can now be relied on to show the correct time with the work carried out by the Cumbria Clock Company, carrying a ten year warranty.
