Falmouth School has appointed a new head boy and head girl, along with deputies and a full senior prefect team, who will begin their duties next term.
Theo Fleming and Lois Hills were the chosen two and will be deputised by Isaac Hayes and Mollie Reburn. The selection process was tougher than normal, with so many strong applicants making the final decision extremely tough, so much so that it was actually delayed by 48 hours.
Both students spoke of their pride at being selected for the prestigious role. “I’m really honoured to have been selected," said Theo. "All the applicants were really strong so I know there is a fantastic team supporting me.”
Lois added: “I’m really looking forward to getting started and to work with the team to make Falmouth School an even better place.”
Jem Wallis, director of sport, said: “The decision we had to make was incredibly difficult. The calibre of candidates we had to choose from was just incredible and the presentations and interviews that each student gave were outstanding.”
The team will regularly attend the school's governors and senior leadership team meetings, reporting on their work to ensure that student leadership is recognised and embedded in the school’s work.
Mr Wallis added: “This is a really exciting time for Falmouth School. Our newly elected student leadership team are fantastic positive role models for our students. They will help to ensure that student leadership has a much greater impact on the school and its students as we move forward.”
