A £3,000 grant has been awarded to Pennoweth School in Redruth by local landlord Coastline Housing.

The award was given by customers on Coastline’s funding and grants committee, established to support local community organisations, clubs and events that will benefit other Coastline customers.

The money has been used to purchase and install some fold-back goal posts and nets for the school’s new multi-use games area.

Rob Adams, head teacher at Pennoweth, said: “These goalposts are the icing on the cake of a wonderful modern sporting facility for the children at our school and the local community.”

Jackie Thomson, community investment officer at Coastline Housing, added: “Sport has the power to make a positive impact on the health of communities and we hope that this new facility will do just that for Redruth. Our customers were really excited at the prospect of supporting such a great facility in the town.”
