Pupils from Penryn Primary Academy enjoyed a topping morning when they visited a Falmouth restaurant to create their own pizzas on Thursday.
The children from years three, four and five all got a slice of the action at Pizza Express as part of the company's free schools programme which aims at educating youngsters about fresh ingredients and how to cook.
After tasting a variety of toppings the pupils, who were on the trip as a reward for being high achievers and hard workers at school, got stuck into shaping and flattening their dough before pushing it into tins. Then it was on with the passata and cheese and their dishes went into the ovens to be baked, then they were taken back to school and eaten.
Class teacher Steph Wetherelt said: "They have been trying all the topping, and they were really reluctant to start with, now they're really enjoying it.
"They quite liked the anchovies, that surprised them, and they liked the spicy peppers."
