Heavy rain failed to put a spoke in the wheel of Helston Lizard Rotary Club’s plans to take part in a charity cycle ride.

A group of 18 members, family and friends of the club still managed to complete Rotary Ride 2016, which sees Rotary clubs across the country organise bike rides for all ages and abilities to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.

The Helston group rode the Camel Trail from Bodmin to Padstow and back, a total of approximately 34 miles, in pouring rain.

In doing so they raised £829 through sponsorship money.

Steve Ford, from the club, said: “Despite the atrocious weather great fun was had by everyone who participated.”
