Party-goers were transported back to the 70s and 80s at Falmouth Rugby Club on Saturday where the third annual Old Skool Reunion took place.

Around 300 people soaked up the atmosphere inside, or the last of the evening sunshine outside, at the event which was again organised by old school friends Mark "Bonzo" Johns and Jeff Chambers. Helping out were DJ David Kitts and, DJ Donaldo (aka Jeff's brother, Donald), who was lured out of retirement once again.

The event was first held three years ago and originates from the Falmouth and Penryn Old Skool Reunion Facebook group which is aimed at old school friends who grew up in the area in the 1970s and 1980s.

As well as providing an entertaining night out and a chance for old friends to catch up, the event also raises money for the Children's Hospice South West. Saturday saw a further £1,500 raised through admission fees and a raffle. The total also included £176.76 which had been raised by Clive "Pops" Popperwell who had put a swear box in the Lemon Arms at Mylor a couple of months ago which obviously proved a profitable initiative.

Jeff said: "It was a fantastic night and we are already thinking about next year's and some changes we might make. There was more taken behind the bar and more tickets sold than any year before. In total over the years we must have raised well over £3,000."
