The Moonlight Memory Walk is coming back to Falmouth in October so the Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) is inviting the ladies of the town and further afield to get involved to

celebrate memories of their loved ones along with the charity’s 25th anniversary.

It will be the eighth Moonlight Memory Walk that the charity has organised in Falmouth and this year there will be some silver surprises as a way of celebrating the 25th anniversary since the founding of the charity by Eddie Farwell and his late wife Jill.

The Moonlight Memory Walk is a ladies only, five mile circular sponsored walk around Falmouth which will take place on Saturday, October 1. The walk will start at 10pm from The Moor and will take ladies through the town out to the seafront and Pendennis Point and back to The Moor.

The Moonlight Memory Walk is such a special event for so many people. Walkers decorate candle bags in memory of loved ones which are then placed around the fountain, some take part in groups of friends, family or colleagues and there is an incredible sense of friendship, support and camaraderie on the evening. This year the event is being sponsored by Falmouth based Fugro GeoServices.

Kiley Tellam, events fundraiser for CHSW, said: “The Moonlight Memory Walk is always a special event in so many ways, but this year it will be particularly poignant with it being the 25th anniversary of Children’s Hospice South West. We hope that we will have hundreds of women come together for the event where we will all be remembering our loved ones with every step as well as making friends and having a laugh along the way.”

There is an early bird entry price available until September 1 of just £10 per person, after this date the price will increase to £12 so register now at chsw.org.uk/moonlight to guarantee your early bird place.
