Penryn is to have a second 24 hour cash machine after permission was granted to install an ATM in the front of the Post Office on the Terrace.
Planning officers at Cornwall Council have approved plans for the installation of the new Bank of Ireland cash point in the shop's existing frontage.
In their report on the application, planning officers wrote: "Although within the conservation area, and surrounded by listed buildings this site is occupied by a relatively modern structure which sits incongruously in the street scene.
"It is proposed to install the ATM on the existing front elevation which will replace a door which is currently used to display posters. The surrounds to the ATM will be painted to match the existing frontage."
While Penryn currently has two cash points in the town centre - both at Costcutters - only one of these is accessible 24 hours a day as the other is inside the shop.
