One of the largest children's festivals in the South West is taking place in Truro next week.

PlayFest is a free two-day festival suitable for all ages, which will be held in Boscawen Park, hosting a variety of activities, workshops and spectacles.

The event offers an affordable, entertaining and easily accessible platform for children to engage with culture, sporting activities and the arts. This year’s event will feature a variety of activities, including arts and craft workshops, live music performances, dance, theatre, circus performance and 'have a go' sessions, storytelling, green crafts, a fun fair and more.

There will also be a procession which will encourage all children to participate with creations they have made in workshops offered during the event, thanks to funding from the Arts Council.

The annual event, which is hosted by Kernow Live CIC in conjunction with Truro City Council and Swamp Circus, is now in its sixth year.

PlayFest will take place at Boscawen Park in Truro on Wednesday, August 3 and Thursday, August 4 from 10am until 5pm, with most activities starting at 11am.

Entry into PlayFest is free of charge, but some activities require a pass, costing £3 per child.

Free transportation to and from the event will also be on offer this year.
