Residents of Penryn, Ponsanooth and Mabe will be able to have their say next week on plans for a 2,000-bed student village next to the Treluswell roundabout near Penryn.

A series of public consultations is being held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday by CAD Architects to allow people to see the plans for the site and to air their views.

Teh architects have already approached Cornwall Council about the plans for eight fields near the Four Winds Garage, which are reported to include an Aldi supermarket and a hotel.

The proposal has already received tentative support from some local residents, who said the right scheme could help protect housing stock and prevent students living in local communities.

The consultations will be held at Ponsanooth Hall on August 2 from 4pm to 6pm, Mabe Community Hall on August 3 from 4.30pm to 6.30pm, and the Temperance Hall in Penryn on August 4 from 4pm to 7pm.
