Bikers from all over the south west joined Christine Hoare and her biker family at Redruth Rugby Club to ride out in memory of her husband Tom.
Over 150 bikes gathered for the fifth annual memorial ride, and together raised close to £3,000 for Marie Curie in Cornwall.
This year £1,600 was raised by the bike run, and there was an additional donation of £1184.50 from Lynsey and the Red Lion Pub in Redruth, to bring the total up to £2,784.50.
This brings the total raised over the five years to an amazing £5,911, and the charity said this money will fund 295 hours or 29 full shifts of Marie Curie nursing care in the local community.
Community fundraiser, Lynda Thomas said: “Marie Curie is here for people living with any terminal illness, whether it’s cancer or any other illness, and their families. The charity offers expert care, guidance and support to help them get the most from the time they have left.
“Marie Curie nurses work night and day, in people’s homes across the UK. Over the last 60 years, Marie Curie has helped millions of people with a terminal illness and their families.”
