Kim Jauncey has been appointed as the external examiner for Falmouth Marine School's degree courses in marine science and aquaculture and fisheries management.

Kim is the vice dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, divisional director of learning and teaching at Stirling University and senior lecturer at the Institute of Aquaculture. He is also the founding editor of the Blackwells journal Aquaculture Nutrition.

Programme manager at Falmouth Marine School, Craig Baldwin, said: “We are really fortunate that we have managed to secure the services of Dr Kim Jauncey as an external examiner on the marine science and aquaculture and fisheries management courses. Dr Jauncey is not only internationally recognised as one of the leading experts in his field but also as vice dean and divisional director, he has a wealth of academic experience that he can bring to the students and staff of Falmouth Marine School.”

The role of the external examiner is to advise and ensure academic rigor of the programmes they oversea, insuring that its assessment system is fair and operated equitably, and is comparable to the university's standards with those in peer institutions.

Kim said: "I am delighted to be able to contribute, as external examiner, to the programmes in marine science and aquaculture and fisheries management at Falmouth Marine School. I look forward to working closely over the next few years with Craig Baldwin and his team who have already impressed me with their thoroughness and professionalism in the development, delivery and assessment of these programmes."
