Two members of the Children's Hospice South West (CHSW) Little Harbour team took to the airwaves to launch this year's Moonlight Memory Walk which will again take place in Falmouth.

Kiley Tellam and Caroline Swain joined Neil and Tina on the Pirate FM breakfast show last week to launch the fundraiser.

The five mile, ladies only, sponsored walk is returning to Falmouth on October 1 and in celebration of the charity’s 25th anniversary they are keen to get 500 ladies signed up to walk the five miles around the town in the moonlight.

Joining them in the studio was Suzanne Tanner from St Ives who has taken part in every Moonlight Memory Walk in Falmouth since CHSW started the walk in 2009. She said: “I come back each year because it is such a good event to take part in, it’s well organised, the atmosphere is amazing and along the route people come out of their houses to cheer you on and of course the pasty and goodie bag at the end is always a great treat.

"It’s such a fun evening, you can dress up with your friends, family or colleagues, you can bring your dogs along too and you will have a great night while raising money for a very special cause.”

Kiley, events fundraiser, said: "The Moonlight Memory Walk is a very special event and the memory ceremony where we remember loved ones is very poignant but the night is also about celebrating those memories with each step around the town.

"The five mile walk is really achievable for a lot of people and if you haven’t taken part in the event before then please sign up this year and help us to celebrate CHSW’s 25th anniversary, it really is a girl’s night out with a difference.”

There is an early bird entry price available until August 31 of just £10 per person. To take advantage of this register now at chsw.org.uk/moonlight.
