The villagers of Constantine battled through the wind and the rain to ensure the annual carnival celebrations went ahead at the weekend, albeit with a scaled down programme.
Last year those taking part in the carnival procession were baked in glorious sunshine, this year however, the elements were against organisers as the heavy winds and showers that had been forecast made an appearance.
This led to plans to have inflatables for the children to play on at the Recreation Ground being abandoned because of safety fears.
The parade itself on Saturday, though, proved a success as people ignored the forecast and the wintry conditions and got the make-up out and slipped into their costumes. As well as the group and individual entries, the parade included Helston Town Band and Falmouth Marine Band, showing off their new clown costumes once again.
On Sunday, a family fun day and barbecue was held as planned, but the high winds again led to a cancellation as the annual parachute display had to be abandoned.
