It will be 'au revoir Cornwall' and 'bonjour Brittany' for seventeen Falmouth residents as they head across the Channel as part of a twinning trip next week.

The group from Falmouth Twinning Association will leave by coach on Sunday, September 4, for a five day exchange visit to the French twinned town of Douarnenez in Brittany.

A spokesperson for the association said: "The twinning committee in Douarnenez has arranged an exciting programme of cultural and social events, culminating in a 'soirée officielle' on the final evening before the trip back to Falmouth on the morning of Friday, September 9.

"During these visits FTA members get to see Brittany, not as tourists but as guests of local families. Some strong bonds have been forged between members over the years and we are looking forward to re-enforcing them.

"This year we have three members travelling with us for the first, but surely not the last time."

New members are always welcome at the association, and more information can be found at falmouthtwinning.jimdo.com
