The people of Four Lanes have elected a Liberal Democrat candidate to be their new Cornwall Councillor in elections held on Thursday.
Voters in the Four Lanes electoral division chose Nathan Mark Billings, who took 300 votes in the election, more than twice the second place candidate.
In second place was independent candidate Bernard Stanley Webb with 144 votes, followed by the Conservatives' Peter David Sheppard with 128, and Peter Michael Williams of Labour with 125.
They were followed by Christopher Lawrence of Mebyon Kernow with 111 votes and Daniel John Hall of UKIP with 57.
Voter turnout was 24.5 per cent.
Mr Billings replaces UKIP party member Derek Elliot, who stood down earlier this year over dissatisfaction with the way the council was run.
