National disability charity, Sense, will be hosting a free information day in Redruth to enable young people with sight and hearing loss and their families to put plans in place to help shape their futures.

The creative and practical event, which will give those attending the chance to talk to professionals and meet other families, aims to give person-centred advice to help those aged 14 years old to 25 years to achieve a positive transition process as they move into adulthood.

The Shape Your Future event, which is open to the entire family, will include a series of inclusive activities to help young people to discuss future plans, explore service opportunities and make active choices about their adult support needs. Themed activities on offer include drumming, drama, cookery, arts and crafts run by experienced staff and volunteers.

It will take place at the Gwealan Tops Centre between 11am and 3pm on October 8. It is free to attend and will include free lunch for all participants. To book a place or for more information, email simon.allison@sense.org.uk.
