A motorcyclist from Lanner has died from injuries he sustained in a crash on the A393 near Redruth on Friday morning.
Dominique Monnerau, 52, suffered serious injuries in the collision with a car, which happened at around 8.30am on the road between Ponsanooth and Gwennap .
He was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro by air ambulance, but police report that he later died.
A police spojkesperson said: "His next of kin have been informed and it is asked that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.
The road between Lanner and Pelean Cross was closed for some time while investigations into the incident were carried out, with diversions put in place.
Police are asking any witnesses to the collision to contact them via email at 101@dc.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting log 171 of September 23.
