A new bus service launches from Falmouth on Monday linking the town to London and six south west destinations with fares starting at just £1.
From October 3, leading low-fares coach operator megabus.com will offer daily departures, connecting Falmouth with Newquay, Bodmin/St Austell, Plymouth, Exeter, Bristol and London. A number of departures each week will also go direct to the University of West England in Bristol.
From as little as £1, plus a 50p booking fee, passengers can travel on comfortable, state-of-the-art vehicles with free Wifi, power sockets, air conditioning and a toilet. Passengers also have a 20kg luggage allowance.
Megabus.com coaches will be stopping in both the town centre, outside Argos in Berkeley Vale, and at the Penryn Campus. Daily services mean students and their families can easily travel direct from London, or even from the midlands and further north by changing at Bristol.
Megabus.com managing director, Edward Hodgson, said: “This new route is great news for our customers who want to travel to and from Falmouth. This new and affordable travel option will be great for students travelling to study in the town but also for families choosing Falmouth for a staycation during the October half term.
“By offering great value fares, passengers will be able to spend their money on taking in some of the great sights and sounds of the great town and will boost tourism by making it even easier and more affordable for people who may previously have been prohibited by the cost of travel.”
