Part of the A39 between Falmouth and Truro has been reduced to a 30mph speed limit for the next twelve weeks as crews work to strengthen the northbound carriageway.

A temporary speed limit is in place on a section of the A39 north of the Kea junction near Truro, while emergency works are carried due to subsidence.

The subsidence has been caused by the movement of the top of a cattle creep, a small tunnel designed to allow farm animals to pass under the road.

A spokesperson for CORMAC said: "Expected to take around 12 weeks to complete, the works will involve repair of the cattle creep, as well as installing a combined drainage/animal crossing and formalising the parapet to the creep.

"CORMAC Solutions Ltd will be carrying out the works and will endeavour to minimise disruption to road users during this period. Night time lane/road closure will be necessary to complete the works safely."
