A vacant Penryn shop will be transformed into a creative portal throughout October as a group of artists seek to create a virtual map of the town through time.

The Re-imagine Your Town project will turn 70 Lower Market Street, formerly known as the Little Yellow House, into a space for creative re-imaginings and conversations about the past, present and future of Penryn.

Artistic group Interanima will invite residents to drop in and co-create an emerging virtual map of Penryn's past, present and future.

Over October different people and groups will be running workshops and drop-in events, and the organisers are currently asking anyone who is interested to get in contact.

The organisers said: "Interanima CIC has already built a 3D CGI replica of the landscape removing all buildings apart from the town hall. This recognisable yet ghostly virtual reality leaves residents, who’ve seen it, with the desire to populate it.

"Over October we will be hosting workshops, events for all ages and shared conversations over tea and cake. Residents’ contributions relating to Penryn’s rich heritage, observations of now and ideas for its future will begin. Real and imagined ideas, memories and visions shape an emerging landscape of 're-imagining.'"

The group is looking for volunteers to help prepare the space and invigilate, and anyone who has four hours free time on the following days should contact the organisers:
