UPDATE: The A3083 has now reopened following a car crash and subsequent fire this morning.
Fire, police and ambulance were called to the scene of the crash between a Renault Clio from Helston and a Skoda Fabia from Truro.
Both vehicles caught fire, although all the occupants were safely out of their vehicles at the time.
Police reported that the driver of the Clio was treated for minor injuries and taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital.
The fire also spread to nearby trees, and melted tarmac up to 15 feet from the crash, but was out by 9.05am.

Two cars have caught fire following a crash just south of Culdrose Air Station this morning.
The A3083 was blocked between Helston and the Lizard, according to a tweet sent by Devon and Cornwall Police just after 9am.
The A3083 #Helston past Culdrose in the Lizard direction is blocked due to an incident. Motorists are being advised to avoid the area.

Police were called to a two car collision, along with fire and ambulance services.
They reported that one person had been injured and the vehicles were on fire.
One witness reported that the flames were so hot they melted the tarmac of the road.

The incident is separate to an earlier crash which had caused the same road to be closed near Mullion, but had since been cleared.
