Renovation of a community's stage, parish church lighting and an activity playground for schoolchildren are three projects in Camborne and Redruth to receive more than £20,000 in funding this week.

On Tuesday the Big Lottery Fund announced the latest list of 81 projects it had funded across the south west, with a total expenditure of £2.4 million across the region.

Those projects included the Pengegon Institute Trust in Camborne which received £3,750 for its stage renovation project.

The group will use the funding to renovate the stage area at the Pengegon Institute, which will improve facilities for current users and the wider community in what the fund describes as a "rurally isolated area."

Another Camborne area project to receive funding was All Saints Church in Tuckingmill, which received £9,436 for its footpath and lighting project.

The funding will be used to install a new safe pathway to the church's community centre as the current surface is unsafe, improving access for visitors and community groups that use the building.

In the Redruth area, Treleigh Community Primary School was awarded £10,000 to build a climbing area.

The school appluied for the money to allow it to create an activity playground to allow for healthy, stimulating outdoor activities for the school children and the wider community with safe, all year round access..
