All Saints' Church in Falmouth held its final Christmas tree festival last year, but the tradition is to be kept alive albeit at a new location and a little earlier than usual.

Over its ten year history, the festival had proved extremely popular and saw crowds flock to the church to see the trees which had been decorated by local groups, schools and other churches.

Thanks to a partnership between Falmouth Town Council, Cormac and Tempus Leisure, community groups are now being sought to get involved with the new-look festival which will be held at Gyllyngdune Gardens.

"We aim to have 32 trees and I'm inviting community groups to contact me if they would like to decorate one," said community engagement officer, Jacqui Owen. "The festival will have the theme of Cinderella, which ties in with Miracle Theatre's pantomime, but people can be as creative as they want to be."

The Christmas tree festival will be officially opened at 6pm on Sunday, December 4. There will be music from Illumination Brass, carol singing and refreshments will be available from the bar. It is hoped the event will draw a crowd, not just of those who will have decorated the trees, but others from the community too.

Anyone who would like to decorate a tree should email Jacqui at jowen@cormacltd.co.uk to reserve one as numbers are limited.
