Members of the public have less than two weeks to have their say in where new housing, educational, and other sites should be built around Falmouth and Penryn.
The deadline for comments on Cornwall Council's Site Allocations Development Plan Document (DPD) is November 14, meaning residents have until then to help shape strategies for the future growth and regeneration of some of Cornwall’s larger towns.
The council is currently undertaking a consultation on the document, which will set the location for new housing and commercial growth, as well as future infrastructure needs.
Areas covered by the allocations DPD are: Penzance and Newlyn; Hayle; Camborne-Pool-Illogan-Redruth; Helston; Falmouth and Penryn; St Austell; Newquay; Bodmin; Launceston; Saltash; and two eco-community sites in the Par and china clay areas.
Cornwall Council cabinet member for planning Edwina Hannaford said: "The allocations DPD represents our opportunity to take a proactive approach to the future growth and regeneration of our communities. We want to ensure as many residents as possible respond to this consultation as their feedback will help us to shape the future of their community."
The document and a questionnaire are available on Cornwall Council’s website at cornwall.gov.uk/allocationsplan and at one stop shops, and residents can also provide feedback by e-mailing delivery@cornwall.gov.uk or sending responses to Allocations DPD, Cornwall Council Dolcoath Avenue, Camborne, TR14 8SX.
