Two women have escaped injury following a car crash on the road between Penryn and Ponsanooth in which one was trapped earlier this morning.
Police and fire service were called to a two car collision between a black Ford Focus and a grey Volkswagen Polo, on the A393 about a mile from the Treluswell roundabout, at around 8.30am.
One person was trapped in a car, and firefighters from Falmouth and the rescue tender from Tolvaddon used crash rescue equipment.
Working with paramedics they had the casualty released from the car by 9am.
A police spokesperson said: "The ambulance was called, but there are no injuries to either driver.
"Paramedics examined one of the drivers for lower back pain."
The road was closed for a time in both directions, with the closure also affecting the Treluswell roundabout.
Officers reported that the road had reopened at around 9.15am, although "traffic remains slow due to recovery of vehicles and clean up."
