Schools and companies in the Falmouth and Penryn area raised thousands of pounds between them on Friday to help disabled and disadvantaged children.

Pupils at schools across the enjoyed the chance to escape their school uniforms for a variety of themed mufti days, and children and adults alike took part in many different fundraising activities, all in aid of Children in Need.

At King Charles School, staff and students raised £401.15 when they dressed up in spots, with key stage one classes each decorating a Pudsey bear while key stage two created a room for Pudsey, and the school council judging the best bears and rooms.

Constantine School pupils also got spotty, raising £194.12 through a combination of a non-unifrom day and an challenge involving laying out pennies in circles along the corridor.

At St Francis School each year group took part in a different activity throughout the day, from dressing up in different outfits to a cake sale, and in total the school raised £498.83.

While children at Falmouth Primary also held a cake sale alongside their non-uniform day, raising £392.31 for the charity.

It wasn't just the children, with staff from Hawkins Motors returning to Sainsbury's car park in Falmouth to get sudsy for Pudsey, washing enough cars over the course of the day to raise £993.09.
