Visitors to the county have once again helped St Ives-based company Adventure 001 raise over £25,000 for the Cornwall Air Ambulance this summer.

The company, which organises days out, adventures and experiences in the county, has supported the charity for six seasons by donating it’s ‘upgrade fees’ for its sight seeing packages.

Managing director of Adventure 001, Neil McLaren, said: “Adventure 001 has not only a passion for aviation, exceptional customer service and unforgettable experiences. But also a dedication to the awareness of the essential life-changing aspect that helicopters and their dedicated crew can provide.

“We are extremely proud to have been able to donate an astounding £100,000 to the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust since 2011. With this funding, they have been able to action multiple missions to assist and also save the lives of those that urgently required medical attention including all 13 stroke victims in 2016 alone.

“This does not only shape and save the lives of the casualties, but also the loved ones around them. The exceptional service the Cornwall Air Ambulance and their staff provide is vital, self-less and remarkable. Adventure 001 could not be happier to continue to support them in saving-lives; as you never know when, who or where a medical emergency could occur.

“As someone who has frequently visited Cornwall with my family from a young age, it is always so comforting to know of the capabilities that are at hand in case of an emergency. We endeavour to continue and build on our efforts to raise funds for this important charity in their 30th year of operation and are therefore pledging a donation of £30,000 in 2017.”

Susie Croft, head of income generation for Cornwall Air Ambulance, said: “The support from Adventure 001 demonstrates that businesses really do take social responsibility seriously in Cornwall. The donations are incredibly generous and really do make a significant difference to the people of Cornwall and visitors alike and we are delighted that their support will continue into 2017.”
