St Francis School in Falmouth played host to a very important visitor recently when non other than Henry VIII dropped in to help bring the children's history lesson to life.
The year two pupils have been studying the Tudor era and ahead of the visit by the king, had visited Pendennis Castle and explored the fortress which had been built under the instructions of Henry VIII.
Then, back at school, the children, and teachers, enjoyed a living history day when they learned more about what it would have been like living in the 16th century. They shared a banquet with the king in the school courtyard where they all received a bowl of stew. This was followed by a display of traditional dancing before they headed back indoors for more classroom based activities.
