Tourists and locals alike will now be able to gather information on entertainment and days out in St Ives with ease, as a new destination website for the idyllic sea-side town has been launched.

The website is the result of a combined effort from the St Ives Business Improvement District (BID), Tourism Association and Visitor Information Centre, who wanted to make a central hub for the goings-on in St Ives.

More than 390 businesses in the holiday hot-spot have been showcased on the website, including hotels, shops and restaurants.

Despite catering mainly for tourists, the creators hope that locals will also find the website useful and discover new events or eateries in the area.

The website, designed by local St Ives company Meor, was created to encourage visitors in the quieter months, with suggestions of things to do on rainy days, history and heritage of the town.

Carl Lamb, St Ives BID manager, said: “The feedback from the businesses in the town was that there wasn’t one main site for them to suggest for people to visit, and that is why we decided to invest into this, teaming up with St Ives Tourism Association and St Ives Visitor Information Centre.

“We wanted something fresh and modern to reflect the feeling of the town, whilst staying true to the history and seaside feel to the town.”

Louise Bryan, chair from St Ives Tourism Association, said: “When we teamed up with the BID and Visitor Information Centre to develop a destination website for St Ives, we were delighted. The town needs one website to represent St Ives and I think the website team at Meor have done a fantastic job.”
