A campaign to get Helston's swans their own bodyguards this Flora Day has refocused its efforts with just a few weeks to go until the fundraising deadline.
Rebecca Wilbur is behind the scheme to provide security for the nesting swans, which can be disturbed by the crowds of people heading to and from the fairground close by to Coronation Park, causing them to abandon their eggs.
So far around half the funds have been raised, with a target of £300 set to cover the cost of security all day and evening on May 6.
Money has to be collected by mid February and donations can be made online at gofundme.com/floraday or through the Facebook page Flora Day Swans.
At the same time, youngsters taking part in the Helston Phoenix Project will be brought in to help clear up twigs around Coronation Park, in a bid to prevent the swans nesting on the paths.
Rebecca said: "We are also desperately seeking donations of hay bales too, as the island where the swans usually nest has been cleared leaving them no option but to make nests along the paths again."
