A teenager from Penryn has been sporting a whole new look after deciding to have her hair chopped off for charity.
Immy Simmonds, who was previously a pupil at St Francis School in Falmouth, but is now at Penryn College, lost 34cm of her long locks at the hands of hairdresser, and family friend, Claire Seviour.
The 13-year-old had been growing her hair for about five years, but decided before Christmas that she wanted a change. Determined to make a difference, though, Immy chose to donate her hair to the Little Princess Trust, which will use it to make wigs for children with cancer.
The charity is very close to Immy's heart and she wanted to ensure her unwanted hair was put to good use.
Immy's transformation took place at Laura Bell's salon at Treluswell and was overseen by stylist, Claire, who is a close friend of the teenager's mum, Samantha Banks. Fortunately, the youngster loves her new look, as do all her friends.
