Truro and Penwith college are set to host an open day on Saturday, March 4, and will be opening their doors to prospective students from across the country.

All 13 buildings of the Ofsted 'outstanding' rated college will be open between 10am and 1pm for visitors to take a look around the campus.

Catering enthusiasts can enjoy visiting the Rick Stein Academy in the Spires Restaurant, where you can see demonstrations from various Cornish chefs such as MasterChef winner Natalie Talents and Nick Evans from Rick Stein's The Seafood Restaurant.

There will also be a textiles workshop, photography sessions and a virtual reality demo from the computing and IT department.

Many sports students from the college go on to compete internationally, including England rugby stars Jack Nowell and Luke Cowan-Dickie, alongside professional cricketer Jake Libby, so the college are offering visitors the chance to have a go on one of the Wattbikes to discover personal fitness levels.

There will also be an introduction to apprenticeships, where Watergate Bay's Emma Neave will explain the benefits of the colleges partnership with the successful seafront hotel.

Staff will be on had to answer any questions regarding transport, finance, subjects and facilities throughout the event, and student services will be present to provide information on all that they offer.
