The Natural Store in Falmouth has raised vital funds for Falmouth Age Concern, proving once again its commitment to helping improve the lives of others in the community.

Falmouth Age Concern is an independent, local charity serving Falmouth, Penryn and surrounding villages. The charity's primary aim is to alleviate loneliness and improve health and wellbeing among the elderly through a volunteer befriending service.

The Natural Store, which recently relocated to Market Strand, raised £120 through a charity raffle which was supported by customers old and new. First prize was a hamper of groceries and second prize was a £25 gift voucher to spend in store.

The store's owner, Paul Johnson, handed over a cheque for £120 to Peter Maxsted, manager at Falmouth Age Concern. “Running a charity raffle is a fantastic way to raise not only funds but awareness of our local charities," said Paul. "We are grateful to our customers who have really got behind the chance to donate in aid of Falmouth Age Concern. Knowing the money will be used to improve the lives of lonely and vulnerable people within Falmouth and Penryn is the best part of all.

“We have a collection box in our shop for Falmouth Age Concern as well as other charities, because we really believe in their cause. The charity helps many vulnerable and lonely adults every year and currently have 80 active volunteers. Falmouth Age Concern make a real difference to our elderly community, and we are very happy to help where we can.”

The Natural Store is now an official partner organisation for Falmouth Age Concern and will continue to organise fundraising activities and raise awareness of the befriending service from the spring when the shop's new café opens.
