The clock was turned back at Penryn Rugby Club recently when old school friends were reunited and chatted and danced the night away.

The event was the Summer of the 70s - Penryn School 60s, 70s and 80s' reunion, which saw not only former class mates meet up again, but also several members of staff who had taught at the school over the three decades.

The night was organised by Brian Searson and Jeff Chambers, who has also been involved with staging the successful Old Skool Reunion charity nights held in Falmouth.

The music at Penryn, which focused on tracks from the sixties through to the eighties, was provided by DJ Dave Kitts, who was delighted to see so many old faces turn up. "It was good to see so many people meeting up again which was mainly down to Brian Searson," he said. "This was his idea after seeing how well the Falmouth reunions have gone.

"Thank you to Danny Birkett for the use of his equipment and Jackie Cockerall and her staff who were kept on the go all night."

The money raised from the event will be donated to Penryn Rugby Club and will go towards buying disco equipment for the youth team so they can hold their own discos.

The dust may only just have settled on this event, but the date has already been set for the next Old Skool Reunion. It will be held at Falmouth Rugby Club on Saturday, July 22, with all money raised

going to the Little Harbour children's hospice. Tickets are £5 and will be available at the door from 7.30pm - 70s and 80s fancy dress is optional.
