Primary school pupils, university students, community groups and individuals all dug deep to reveal their creative sides when they took part in a project which culminated with their 3D drawings being planted around Falmouth's Gyllyngdune Gardens.

The project, inspired by the Big Draw, was coordinated by Jane Chetwyn and Sarah Hayes, leaders on Falmouth University's art and design foundation course, and involved Falmouth Primary, Marlborough and Constantine Schools, the Princess Pavilion's adult make and take group, the young women's group at the Dracaena Centre and university students.

"The idea behind the Big Draw is to get everybody to participate and enjoy the experience of it," said Jane. "This project was about making objects and 3D drawings were the focus. We have made around 300 of them."

The creations, most made out of water-resistant materials, were "planted" around the bandstand and within the top corner flower beds at Gyllyngdune Gardens in time for the Falmouth Spring Flower Show, but it is hoped they will last longer.

"The idea is that they are here for a month," added Jane. "It is hoped they will last that long but it depends if we have very strong winds."
