Residents of the Earle’s Retreat almshouse in Trelawney Road were presented with a Britain in Bloom It's Your Neighbourhood Award by Falmouth’s deputy mayor, Trish Minson last week.
The award was given by the Royal Horticulture Society in recognition of the time and effort the residents and staff put in to keeping the communal gardens of their home in tip-top condition.
Congratulating the residents, Mrs Minson said that while the almshouse garden was small, it had made a major contribution towards Falmouth’s success in the Britain in Bloom competition last year, and had added value to the overall project.
