The Dracaena Centre in Falmouth threw open its doors and welcomed members of the community of all ages in to see what it has to offer.

Throughout the day there were demonstrations and free taster sessions from some of the many clubs and organisations that are based at the centre. These included a variety of sports clubs, including taekwondo, with the Richards TKD Club; Capoeira with CDO Cornwall; a chance to spar with the Falmouth and Penryn Boxing Club, and zumba sessions with Embrace Dance Fitness.

The Falmouth Docks Table Tennis Club also invited people to have a go, against each other and against the club's "robot" who had been set up in the sports hall.

In addition to this the Dracaena Centre team held their own, free pop-in and play sports sessions aimed at seven to 12-year-olds during the afternoon and activities were also laid on by Captains Parents and Toddlers Group.

At the other end of the age range, members of the centre's 50+ Leisure and Social Club were encouraging people to try their hand at a range of activities including archery, boccia, new age kurling and bowls.

The day was held to showcase exactly what the centre has to offer with the hope that it would encourage new people to give things a try and come back for more.
