The mayor of Falmouth was on The Moor recently to welcome a new convenience store and off licence with local businessman and franchisee Rick Paul and his staff.

Mayor Grenville Chappell cut the ribbon on the 18,000 square foot Select Convenience store on Berkeley Vale, which opened its doors with a range of in-store tastings and giveaways, including the chance to win one of two £25 gift vouchers.

Mr Paul, who also runs another store with Select Convenience owners Conviviality Retail in Newquay, is looking forward to welcoming locals to his store which will offer a range of everyday items including fresh foods, food to go, and Costa Coffee, plus cider on tap.

Select Convenience stocks a large range of beers, ciders and spirits, including craft ales and specialist gins such as Liverpool Gin, Bloom and Whitley Neil. All wines are selected by Select Convenience’s master of wine, Susan McCraith, who travels the globe in search of new and exciting products.

Mr Paul said: “I’m so pleased to be opening my second store with Conviviality Retail and offering the local people of Falmouth a new shopping experience.

“We’re really excited to have welcomed the mayor for the official opening – which gave us a proper chance to celebrate and meet the local people we’ll be serving over the coming weeks.”

The store is located at 1 Berkeley Vale, Falmouth, TR11 3PL and is open from 7.30am to 10pm Sunday to Wednesday, and from 7.30am to 11pm Thursday to Saturday.
