Guests were invited to possibly the healthiest party in Cornwall recently when a Falmouth wholefood shop launched its brand new vegetarian café.

A friendly welcome was given to all that came to the Natural Store Café for its official opening, and the general feeling was one of excitement and curiosity.

Regular customers familiar with the shop as a supplier of groceries, natural products and health supplements turned out in impressive numbers to check out the new café and see what the fuss was about. Set on the first floor, the café boasts views over the Prince of Wales Pier and offers a range of healthy food and drink in an atmosphere that manages to be both relaxed and vibrant at the same time.

Rob Kneebone, store manager, said: “The official launch of The Natural Store and the café was a huge success. There was a wonderful vibe and atmosphere throughout the day and we were really pleased to see many new faces come in to the store.”

The party was attended by TV chef and sustainability expert James Strawbridge, along with his wife Holly and their three children.

James said: “Living sustainably isn’t about competition, it’s about collaboration, and The Natural Store is one of my favourite shops because it is the perfect example of local suppliers coming together via this one outlet”.

The celebration also involved performances from local musicians such as Gavin Kaufman and Evening Chorus Choir, food samples flowed, presentations from local suppliers.

Owner Paul Johnson said: “Our commitment to providing a great health experience has led to the recent expansion, and a positive move from the High Street to a more prominent position on Market Strand.

“We were delighted to have James Strawbridge join in with our celebrations and we look forward to seeing everyone popping in to the shop for supplies, for the cafe or just to talk about food and health.”

Opening hours at the cafe are Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm, and more information can be found at naturalstorecornwall.co.uk
