There are unconfirmed reports this evening that a man has been tasered by police in Falmouth after walking around with a knife.
Langton Road is understood to have been closed off by police as they deal with the incident.
One eyewitness claimed that the man was "slashing himself" but is now being treated at the scene by ambulance staff.
She said: "He literally walked past me and my work mate. We phoned the police; they shouted to him three times put the knife down, then tasered him.
"He was slashing his arms; it not nice to see, very scary."
It is understood that Devon and Cornwall Police have referred this incident to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
Police are reporting that the man has died, and the case has been referred to the IPCC
