Police investigating the death of a Redruth mother whose car crashed into Stithians Lake last month have released details about three witnesses they would like to speak to.

Hazel Brown, who worked at Acorns Toddler Group in Penryn, died following a collision on Tuesday, May 16.

As a result of the crash the vehicle entered the water of the lake. Emergency services were called and 29 year-old Hazel, who was driving, was conveyed to Treliske hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.

Officers are now looking for witnesses from three vehicles who may have seen the collision, that took place just after 8.30pm that night.

Motor patrol officer Lisa Gordon said: "The witnesses we need to contact us were travelling in either a silver Audi, or a dark coloured Peugeot Partner vehicle or a A dark red small SUV Nissan Qashqai."

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area around this time and might have information that would help the investigation to email 101@dc.police.uk or call 101 and quote log 845 16/05/17.
