The funeral service for popular Falmouth man Ben Dickinson will be held on Monday, June 19, and will be followed a "celebration of life" event.

Ben's family have asked that all those attending wear a "splash of colour" and look to Crystal Palace Football Club for inspiration.

Former Falmouth School pupil Ben died of a heart attack at the age of just 42. Hundreds of tributes have flooded in from friends and colleagues at Cornwall Council and Cormac, where he was a highways and environment manager, who have been shocked by the news of his death.

Ben was married to Paula, a director and co-owner of estate agents Lewis Haughton Wills, and was step-dad to her children Tom and Nicky. He also leaves his parents, Chris and Caroline, who live in Penryn; and brother, Len; his wife, Donna, and their children, Finley and Sophie.

Len announced this morning that Ben's funeral service will be held at Penmount Crematorium and 3pm on June 19, and will be followed by the celebration of his life at Falmouth Football Club from 5.30pm until late.

He added: "Please be aware that Penmount has limited capacity – please respect that family and close friends will be seated as priority. All are welcome to the Celebration of Life at the football club.

"We ask that you dress with a splash of colour (even if it is just a tie or scarf – for colour inspiration just Google Crystal Palace FC – Ben’s team!). For the celebration of Ben’s life, please bring photos of Ben – we will be displaying a Ben Gallery and would love you to add to it."

Family flowers only are requested for the funeral, but a fundraising page has been created for those who would like to donate with the money going to local causes close to Ben's heart. Those wanting to contribute can do so at justgiving.com/crowdfunding/BenDickinson.
