A Falmouth girl was so determined to help children with cancer that she grew her hair for a year, so that she could donate a whole wigs-worth.

Chloe Walton decided to donate her hair to the Little Princess Trust, a charity which provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children across the UK who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses.

It took Chloe 12 months to grow the 34cms of hair that she wanted to donate to the charity, and has now had it lopped off - one week before her 9th birthday.

Chloe also set up a JustGiving page which raised £900, enough money to pay for two more wigs for the charity.

Vick Walton, Chloe's mum, said: "Chloe has been extremely excited about the day finally arriving.

"From her initial thoughts and ideas, she has been focused on the day when her hair would be long enough to provide hair for a wig for a little girl who needs one.

"We are so proud of her, her dedication to the cause has inspired us all.'
