After months of hard work it was time for year 11 students at Helston Community College to cast aside their books and get dressed up last week for their leaving prom.
Having just sat their gruelling GCSE exams, the chance to relax was a welcome one for the students, who revelled in the chance to wear long gowns and smart suits.
Meeting at the school's north site last Thursday evening, the group were then transported en mass to Tregenna Castle at St Ives for an evening of food and dancing.
For some it was simply au revoir as they prepared to return to the college for sixth form studies in September, but for others it marked the end of an era and a chance to say goodbye before beginning a new chapter in education elsewhere in the county, or starting work.
