Colleagues at Marks and Spencer in Falmouth ditched work and picked up paint brushes to help with the refurbishment of the Dracaena Centre's community cafe.

As part of Make it Matter Day, Marks & Spencer has committed to support its staff in delivering one million hours of community volunteering by 2025, to help make a difference to the projects and initiatives that really matter in the communities it serves.

M&S kick-started the volunteering in Falmouth during National Volunteers Week by helping out at the Dracaena Centre’s Community Cafe.

Jerome Browne, manager of M&S Falmouth, said: “We were really excited to be coming together to support the Dracaena Centre’s cafe. Volunteering can make a profound difference to the communities in which we live, work and play. We believe that lots of the small actions from lots of people, can collectively have a huge impact.”

Clair Allen, who manages the community café, said: "The hard work from the M&S team has transformed the feel of the café. They have created a much more welcoming environment. We are so grateful for their help.”
