Police have named a woman who died in a crash involving 22 parked cars at a dealership near St Austell in June.

Kelly Pearce, 40, who was local to the area, was killed when the car in which she was a passenger collided with other vehicles on Sunday, June 25, on the A390 at Hewas Water.

Emergency services were called just after 9.45pm to reports of a collision involving a black Vauxhall Vectra Saloon car.

Ms Pearce was pronounced dead at the scene, while the male driver was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital where he remains with serious injuries.

A police spokesperson said: "The car was travelling from the St Austell area in the direction of Truro and left the carriageway. The vehicle collided with 22 parked vehicles which were parked on the garage forecourt of Andrew Toms Cars.

"The road was closed for eight hours while officers carried out an examination of the scene."

Police from the Alliance Roads Policing Team are appealing for witnesses and are particularly interested in anyone who witnessed the manner of driving of a black coloured Vauxhall Vectra in the Hewas Water area around 9.45pm that evening.

Officers also want to speak to anyone who stopped at the scene of the collision to assist, leaving before the arrival of the police.
