Post Office services have been restored to Stithians and will be provided through an outreach service from the Spar store in New Road.

The Stithians Post Office branch at Church Road closed temporarily in January due to the resignation of the postmaster. The branch re-opened on June 23, during the public consultation, so that a service was restored to the village soon as possible.

The nearby postmaster for Rame now provides a service from the Spar shop on Wednesday and Fridays from 9am until 1pm.

Sarah Cottrell, network operations area manager, said: “We are delighted to have been able to restore a service at Stithians for our customers in the local community. The establishment of a hosted service presented us the best possible solution in Stithians.

"During public consultation we received nine individual responses from customers and local representatives. The majority of respondents welcomed our plan as it enabled us to restore Post Office services to the Stithians community."
